The greatest inventions in history and the world’s most beautiful works of art share a common thread: they were born from the perfect union of knowledge and creativity—wisdom and method on one side, intuition and genius on the other.
According to legend, King Minos of Crete commissioned a sophisticated labyrinth to eternally imprison the Minotaur. He turned to Daedalus, an architect and inventor renowned throughout Greece. Upon completing the work, however, Daedalus and his son Icarus were imprisoned within the maze by Minos to ensure its secrets were never revealed. To escape, the genius fashioned two pairs of wings from feathers and wax. But as the legend tells, the flight to freedom came at a high price: Icarus flew too close to the sun, his wings melted, and he fell.
Ingenuity and imagination: the bar globe was born in much the same way—from the lifelong woodcrafting experience of Italo Zoffoli and a sudden spark of inspiration while sipping a glass of wine. Since that day, flair and expertise have become the hallmarks of Zoffoli. To honor these traits, we have named one of our most stunning globes after the Greek hero.
Dedalo is a timeless globe, as eternal as the history of human achievement. It carries the charm of ancient myth: the map is a faithful 16th-century replica, while the interior of the sphere is adorned with extraordinary mythological figures. The sphere fully rotates around its meridian in both the open and closed positions.
